Webcam Mirror Online — Test Camera, Flip & Check Appearance Free
The SimplyUtils Webcam Mirror turns your browser into a live, real-time mirror using your device's built-in or external webcam. Instantly check your appearance before video calls, test camera clarity, flip the feed horizontally or vertically, or use it as a makeup mirror — all without any app or account. Works on laptops, desktops, and Android tablets with a front-facing camera.
How to Use the Webcam Mirror
- Click "Start Camera" — your browser will request webcam permission. This is mandatory and runs locally — SimplyUtils never streams your feed.
- Select your camera — if you have multiple cameras (e.g., built-in + external), choose the preferred one from the device selector.
- Flip horizontally — toggle the mirror flip so the image matches a physical mirror (left-right correct reflection).
- Zoom or adjust — use pinch-to-zoom on touch devices or scroll zoom on desktop to get a closer look.
- Take a snapshot — capture and download a still frame from the live feed as a PNG file anytime.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my camera feed sent to SimplyUtils?
Absolutely not. The webcam stream is accessed via the browser's getUserMedia API and rendered locally in an HTML5 <video> element. No frames, pixels, or streams are transmitted to any server.
Why does the mirror look different from a physical mirror?
By default, webcams show a camera-view (non-mirrored). Enable the "Horizontal Flip" toggle to see a true mirror reflection where your left hand appears on the left side — identical to a physical mirror.
Does this work on iPhone or iPad?
Yes — Safari on iOS 14.3+ and Chrome/Edge on iOS 16.4+ support the getUserMedia API. You can access both front and rear cameras on iPhone and iPad.
My camera isn't showing up — what should I check?
First, ensure no other app (Zoom, Teams, etc.) is actively using the camera — most cameras can only stream to one app at a time. Second, check the browser's site permissions to confirm camera access is "Allow" not "Block". Third, try refreshing the page.
Your webcam feed is rendered locally using the browser's getUserMedia API. No video data is transmitted or stored.
