Does the calculator include or exclude the start and end dates?
By default, the tool counts days from start to end exclusive of the start date and inclusive of the end date — matching how most legal and financial date math conventions work. You can toggle endpoint inclusion/exclusion via the settings panel.
How are leap years handled?
All calculations use JavaScript's Date object, which correctly handles leap years — including the edge case of century years (1900 is NOT a leap year; 2000 IS). February 2024 correctly shows as 29 days.
Can I calculate working days and exclude specific holidays?
Yes — enable "Business Days Only" mode and select a country. The tool filters out weekends and the selected country's public holidays for the selected year range, providing an accurate working day count for international teams.
What's the difference between calendar months and full months?
"Calendar months" counts how many month boundaries are crossed (e.g., Jan 31 → Feb 1 = 1 month). "Full months" counts only complete 30-day periods. The tool shows both interpretations so you can select the one appropriate for your legal or financial context.
Can I calculate date ranges across timezone boundaries?
The calculator treats dates as timezone-neutral by default (comparing calendar dates without time-of-day). This prevents off-by-one errors when calculating date differences across DST changes or international timezone offsets.
Client-Side Processing: All date range calculations run locally in your browser using JavaScript's Date API. No date inputs are transmitted to SimplyUtils servers.
